The Adios Motherf*cker emerged in the late 20th century as a playful riff on the classic Long Island Iced Tea. Its name comes from its potent combination of five spirits and its reputation for being the drink you order when you’re ready to say “goodbye” to a quiet night. The blue color comes from blue curaçao, which gives it that eye-catching look you can't miss across a crowded bar. While its exact origins are fuzzy, it’s been a staple in college bars and nightclubs across the U.S. since at least the 1980s.
A lemon wedge and a maraschino cherry add a pop of color and a hint of extra citrus and sweetness, enhancing the visual appeal and flavor.
