The Golden Dream cocktail first made its mark in the late 1960s and early 1970s, during the heyday of dessert cocktails. It was reportedly created by Raimundo Alvarez, a bartender at the Old King Bar in Miami, and quickly gained popularity after being featured in the 1970 International Bartenders Association (IBA) list. The drink was especially beloved for its smooth, creamy texture and orange-forward flavor, making it a staple in retro lounges and classic cocktail bars across America.
