The Hot Toddy traces its roots to 18th-century Scotland and Ireland, where it was originally crafted to ward off the damp cold. The name 'toddy' is believed to come from the Indian beverage 'tadi,' a drink made from fermented palm sap, which British colonists encountered and adapted. Over time, the Hot Toddy became a staple in British and American households, especially as a home remedy for colds and sore throats—earning a reputation as the original 'adult tea.' Today, it remains a classic winter warmer enjoyed worldwide.
